HAY Design is committed to making our website usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We work to comply with the Israeli Standard IS 5568 at WCAG 2.1 Level AA, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility) 5773-2013.

Accessibility tool

Every page on the site carries a fixed accessibility button in the bottom corner. Opening it reveals controls for text size, contrast (default, dark, light, grayscale), link and heading highlighting, an enlarged cursor, pause-animation, and a readable sans-serif font. Settings are remembered in your browser between visits.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML structure with a single H1 per page and properly nested headings.
  • Skip-to-content link reachable as the first keyboard stop on every page.
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element during keyboard navigation.
  • Alt text on meaningful images; decorative images marked aria-hidden.
  • Form fields with associated labels and accessible error states.
  • Respect for the operating-system reduced-motion preference, plus a user-controlled override in the widget.
  • Multi-language support (Hebrew, English, French) with correct lang and dir attributes.

Known limitations

We continue to improve the site. The following items are known partial-conformance points that we are working on:

  • Embedded videos do not yet carry full captions or audio descriptions.
  • A small number of product photographs use compact alt text that may not fully describe ornamental detail.
  • The catalogue's cinematic horizontal scroll on desktop is keyboard-reachable but not optimally keyboard-driven; a list view is available on every device width.
